Mrs Universe New Zealand 2021 Crowning Night

Fiji Indian Nurse Crowned Mrs Universe NZ at a Beauty Pageant in Auckland

A Fiji-Indian woman contesting in the Mrs Universe New Zealand 2021 beauty pageant was crowned the title award along with seven other special recognitions at the ceremony last weekend.

Nurse by profession at Waitakere Hospital and a mother of two, 33-year-old Noleen Dayal was crowned the winner at the end of the competition.

Noleen belonged to Savusavu town of Fiji living in New Zealand and was the only Fijian amongst the top three finalists.

She was awarded special awards such as People’s Choice, Best in Domestic Violence presentation, Mrs Photogenic, Mrs Talent, Mrs Body Beautiful, Mrs Articulate and Mrs Sportswear.

Noleen exclaims that being a mother of two young children, a full-time worker and a volunteer- it was challenging for her to stay focussed and concentrate on the pageant of such a high calibre, but overwhelmed with the judges’ decision.

“It was my first time participating in a beauty pageant, and I made my own decision to partake in this pageant,” Noleen told media.

On winning the title crown, Noleen advises women always to keep a positive body imaging, be their own motivation, be proud of themselves and strive to become role model to people and community around her.

Noleen further adds that winning was not the goal of participating in the tournament. She wanted to give her best shot in whatever rounds came to her in the contest, and experience what it meant to be on the centre stage and challenge her limits differently.

Noleen thanked her parents, siblings, relatives, sponsors, and friends to guide and support her through the months of preparation leading to the contest finale.
